Surge in enquiries for flexible workspace as post-Brexit strategies unfold

The uncertainty surrounding post-Brexit trading has led to a growth in demand for flexible office space in Exeter, according to workspace provider Regus.

Regus reports a growth of more than 10% in enquiries from June-August and suggests the figures are an indication that businesses in Exeter and beyond are starting to think more flexibly about how and where they work.

Richard Morris, UK CEO, Regus, comments: “The current UK business climate does not lend itself to long-term property purchase commitments or even long-term lease arrangements. Instead, businesses are thinking more flexibly and investigating more agile ways of working afforded by flexible workspace.

“Since the Brexit vote was announced, we have seen a significant growth in enquiries for our workspace in Exeter, and this trend is mirrored across the UK.”

The Regus model enables businesses to take as much workspace as they need at any time – whether a single office for a day, or multiple workstations across an extended period.

“Businesses were starting to think this way long before Brexit happened,” continues Morris. “Certainly, the Brexit effect has generated a surge in demand, but this is simply continued evidence that business attitudes are beginning to shift towards a more agile future.”
