Redrow West Country site manager in running to win top industry accolade

Redrow site manager Steve Damerell has won a prestigious industry award for his top quality work at the Stanbury Meadows development in Newton Abbot.

Steve, from Plymouth, was one of just 430 site managers to receive the Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Awards from the NHBC (National House Building Council) last year.

He is now in the running for the final stage, the Supreme Awards, and will be attending an awards ceremony in London on Friday 26th January.

Highlighting excellence in the field for 35 years, Pride in the Job is dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding. Around 15,000 site managers undergo the judging process in small, medium, large and specialist housebuilder categories.

Steve said: “Being nominated for the NHBC Pride in the Job award is one of the highest praises a site manager can achieve.

“And to go even further and be put forward for the Supreme Award is just brilliant. We’re really proud of Stanbury Meadows, it’s a really special development.”

Judging for the awards began 12 months ago and includes spot checks of the day-to-day running of the sites as well as assessment across 38 areas of site management. The judges look at each manager’s technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.
