TikTok is the latest platform to take Gen Z by storm, since its inception 3 years ago it has amassed over 300 million followers, which is on par with twitter. If you haven’t heard of TikTok, this is something that you need to change as it will give you direct access to the Gen Z market which is notoriously difficult to tap. Follow our steps to help you promote your business on TikTok.

Create a TikTok Ad Campaign

Your ad campaign on TikTok can be as large or as sm all as you want to make it. You have the opportunity to attract your niche, so make sure that your ad campaign is well thought out and considered. You can use multiple types of ads from in feed ads to pre roll ads which start as soon as the application is opened up. They are great way to engage your audience and get your name out there.

Collaborate with influencers

Influencers are hugely popular on TikTok and are set to become bigger on this app than Instagram. Why not collaborate with ones that reflect your business and brand? This type of guerrilla advertising is seriously effective, especially with Gen Z. You will need to carefully consider the influencer that you want to work with and make sure the relationship is symbiotic and not one sided.

Bots

Like Twitter and Instagram, TikTok is all down to how popular your feed looks with other users. You want to make sure that the number of followers you have is high, but these followers need to be real and active, this is where a bot can help. Unlike when you purchase followers, a bot supercharges the organic growth strategy for you.

It engages with other accounts on your behalf, through liking a following and even commenting. When you configure the bot, make sure that your configuration matches your target market and niche, you need to be hyper aware of this, more so than any other platform. TokUpgrade has been shown to be one of the most reliable bot services.

Research has shown that Gen Z don’t take well to being invaded by ads or accounts that don’t represent them, their views or their lifestyles, so make sure you are targeting the right niche.

Use The Golden Hours

Whether you are building an Ad campaign or simply uploading content, you want to make sure that all of this is done in the golden hours of the app. The golden hours are when most of the people are online and the chances of your content being viewed vastly increases. Regardless of time zone, research and analytics show that the most activity on TikTok is between 11am and 5pm, so you need to make sure you post between these hours given your target markets location. This timing is reflective of how young the demographic of this app is, so make sure your ads and content are posted during this time.

Original and Quality Content

If you are uploading content, or building your ads, you want to make sure that your content is quality. Just because it is a newer platform that Instagram doesn’t mean you can afford to let your standards slide and hope that poor editing will be overlooked, as this is not the case. The users on TikTok have grown up with the highest quality content imaginable, using Instagram when it was already a well-established app, so they are used to high level of ads and user generated content. Use different editing software to get the most out of your content, from final cut to TikTok own in app editing suit, whatever you do, just make it look good.

Brand Takeovers

Brand takeovers are an amazing way to get your brand and business noticed. This is more of a mass marketing approach on the app, but you can increase traffic to your feed which may translate into an increase in activity and thus sales. A brand takeover is when users open the app and they see your brand straight away, these images and videos need to be high resolution as they will dominate the entire devices screen. It is an excellent way to place you into the mind of the consumer without them necessarily realising it.

Final Considerations

TikTok advertising doesn’t have to be conducted in the traditional paid ads way, you can deploy a variety of tactics to increase traffic to your feed and promote your business and brand. Paid ads are an excellent way of getting your advertising campaign off the ground, but also look to collaborate with influencers and conduct some guerrilla marketing. The more effort you put in to building your brand around high level content the easier your business and brand will grow on the app. You can even increase this further by using a bot to organically grow your feed whilst you concentrate on what is really important, content creation.
