The first business advice event run as a joint venture by the Honiton Chamber of Commerce and the East Devon branch of the Federation of Small Businesses looks set to be a great success.

27 confirmed exhibitors will be available at ‘Honiton Together for Business’ on September 24 at the Beehive to offer expert advice to attendees, including Beviss & Beckingsale, EDDC, Cosmic, Hours4Work, Trading Standards, Workways, Archant Media, Thomas Westcott, Carter Dawes, BIP and Dimonds, as well as FSB and the Honiton Chamber.

Colin Wright, Chairman of Honiton Chamber said: “We’re delighted that so many businesses offering such a range of services have agreed to act as business advisors during the day.”

Co-organiser and Chairman of the East Devon Branch of the FSB, Greg Page-Turner agreed: “This is a great opportunity for local SMEs to hear the latest business advice on key topics that will help them achieve even greater success.”

The free event, which will be opened by Taunton MP, Rebecca Pow, includes a series of useful talks on subjects ranging from grant funding, how to grow your business, digital marketing and PR. Mark Godfrey from Deer Park Hotel will discuss his part in turning a struggling business into a great success story. The Deer Park will also be providing cream teas for attendees.

Patrick McCaig MD of another successful East Devon business, Otter Brewery, will be giving a welcome talk for the evening session, which will include a progress report on EDDC’s move to Honiton as well as an update on ramifications for businesses from the most recent budget.

The event is open from 3pm to 8pm. Track the build up to the event including details of speakers and timings on Twitter by following @HonitonBiz
