Five of Exeter's recent property projects have been shortlisted in the 2019 Michelmores Property Awards. The annual awards celebrate exceptional property and construction projects located in Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol and Cornwall, across ten categories.

The Lodge House, Kennford Court, in Kennford, has been shortlisted for Project of the Year (under £5m) and for Building of the Year. Formerly a redundant water storage tank, the site has now been converted into a contemporary residence with far reaching views of Haldon Forest and the River Exe.

Under the Heritage Project of the Year category, The Barton in Holcombe Burnell has been shortlisted. The Barton, a holiday cottage complex situated just outside of Exeter, has been carefully reconstructed to retain original characteristics from the former historic farmhouse.

The Chasse in Topsham, is shortlisted for the Residential Project of the Year (36 units and over). The project includes 50 homes featuring the latest energy saving devices, whilst incorporating the architecture of the local area, such as the Dutch gables present on many properties in Topsham.

Two projects have been shortlisted under the Residential Project of the Year (35 units and under). Chester Long Court in Exeter, an Exeter City Council led project, has created 26 homes consisting of one bedroom and two bedroom apartments, with the aim of encouraging Council tenants to 'right-size'. Chester Long Court has been built to a Passivhaus standard, offering low energy housing to tenants.

Also shortlisted in this category, is Orchard View in Newton St Cyres, near Exeter. Orchard View consists of 25 homes built around a communal green and located next to a newly built village primary school. This project provides high-quality family housing, set within a thriving village community.

Emma Honey, Head of Property at Michelmores, said: "The shortlist this year includes some highly impressive and innovative projects, which highlights the talent and professional excellence present in the sector. Congratulations to everyone shortlisted, we look forward to announcing the winners on 13 June."

The winners of each category will be announced at an Awards Dinner on Thursday 13 June 2019 at Sandy Park Conference Centre, Exeter. The awards will be presented by actress and comedian, Sally Phillips. To book tickets for the Awards Dinner and for further information please contact: awards@michelmores.com / 01392688688
