The Exeter PA Network's first development event for 2016 saw over 50 PAs and support staff from organisations including Landmark, Devon County Council and Devon Air Ambulance come together to learn about 'personal brand' and its importance in the world of business today.

Jonathan Alder, from Exeter based brand agency Alder and Alder hosted the 'personal brand' session focusing on what it is, why it is important, and how taking control of your personal brand may mean the difference between an unfulfilling job and a rewarding career.

For 2016, the Network's development events will have a central theme of brand. The next session held on Thursday 30 June will focus on Developing an Online Brand and Building Engagement with speaker Angela Rimmer a strategic marketing consultant.

The event received extremely positive feedback, Nicola Quick from the University of Exeter said:

"I thoroughly enjoyed the evening; the speaker, venue and event were a huge success.  The Network organisers do such an amazing job, and I'm so pleased to be part of such an exciting group."

Ceren Roberts, Assistant to the Chief Executive Officers at Ashfords also commented: "I had such a lovely evening.  I arrived not knowing one other person, and left knowing quite a few − the presentations were fab too!"

This year the Network will be raising money for local charity 'Business Empowering Employment Programme' (BEEP), which helps 16-24 year olds not currently in education or employment move forward and become 'work ready' by attending an intensive 10-day programme. The Network aims to raise £7,500 over the course of the year to fully fund a programme for 12 students.

Kim Glover, EA to Managing Partner at Michelmores, and founder of the Network said: "I'm thrilled that, as Ambassador for the charity, I was able to introduce it to our members, and they felt sufficiently moved by Sandra Sampson's (Motiv-8) presentation about the work the BEEP does for them to introduce a Charity of the Year."
