More than £4,000 was raised at a charity golf day held in aid of South West Multiple Sclerosis Centre.

The event, sponsored by Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants and Thomas Westcott Business Recovery, saw 22 teams of four, made up of professional contacts and clients, battle it out at Teignmouth Golf Club.

In all £4,100 was raised through a combination of entry fees, fun golf-themed events, raffles and an auction.

As in previous years all the money was donated to the South West MS Centre in Clyst Heath, Exeter.

Jon Mitchell, Thomas Westcott's business recovery expert who helped organise the day said: "It was lovely to see so many of our contacts and clients turning out to support such a fantastic cause and raise so much money which will go a long way to helping the MS centre's day to day running costs."

He added: "Thomas Westcott would like to thank all of the sponsors and players for their involvement in the day and for their contribution to this magnificent sum raised for the charity. We are really pleased to have been involved and look forward to organising a similar event next year."

On the day Barrow Clark Furnishers of Barnstaple came out overall winners, followed by Foot Anstey Solicitors in second place and the team from Freshwater Beach Holiday Club finishing third.
