Multinational car manufacturer Mazda will invite customers to enjoy a new style of car showroom, when Vospers opens its new site in Exeter later this year.

The car dealer’s new 61,215 square foot state of the art facility at Matford, destined to open late 2018, will also include new showrooms for Ford, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo.

As the only authorized dealer of Mazda in Devon, Vospers features a great selection across the product range such as the Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda MX-5, Mazda6, Mazda CX-3 and the all-new Mazda CX-5.

One of the biggest automaker producers in the world, Mazda has been leading the way in car manufacturing since 1931. From the development and production of the R360 in 1960, and the rotary engine, through to the legendary MX-5, Mazda has a reputation for thinking beyond the norm and defying convention. In addition to delivering ground breaking design and first class engineering, the company is also committed to making its cars the world’s most fuel-efficient with the award winning SKYACTIV Technology.

The new showroom will match the premium quality of the Mazda products by introducing a car configurator system that enables customers to create a 3D image of their car, helping to make important decisions on design and specification. A large display space will showcase the Mazda product range where customers can explore the latest Mazda models inside and out.  A sizable 28-bay workshop will feature the latest technology and diagnostic equipment that will enhance quality and speed of service for customers.

The climate-controlled showroom will feature complimentary Wi-Fi and refreshments, to deliver a luxuriously comfortable customer experience. The innovative design of the building and the attractive outdoor landscape will promote an environment of enjoyment, and inspiration for customers and staff.

Nick Vosper, Managing Director of Vospers, comments:

“We are proud to represent the Mazda brand and are excited to be launching a new showroom at our Matford supersite for the growing number of Mazda customers from across the region. The Vospers team has a real passion for the brand and our Mazda trained technicians are highly knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of servicing and repairs.

“The new state of the art showroom has been designed with the brand and buyer in mind; to create a high quality space to showcase the Mazda product and make the buyer experience even more enjoyable.”

The new facility will see the consolidation of Vospers’ three current sites in Exeter, all relocating to the new site on Matford Way, adjacent to the recently opened Audi site and opposite Jaguar and Land Rover.

The new site has been supported by a six-figure funding package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Bank. Paul Collings, Relationship Director for mid-markets at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said:

“Vospers is a long-standing customer of Lloyds Bank, and we have worked with the business as it has continually evolved, adapted and responded to the economy, society and demands of the local market.

“When Vospers turned to us for a £9million working capital facility for the development of its new car superstore in Exeter, we immediately recognised the impact the expansion would have on the business. The funding enables the business to continue to grow and enhance its customer service offering, ensuring the firm remains the go-to car retailer in the region.”

“The team here is looking forward to seeing the completed site open later this year and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the firm that coincides with this.”

The main contractor for the £12m build is APP Construction, with several local contractors appointed to assist in the delivery of the project. Construction of the roof has been completed and now work on the interior is underway. This development is set to make a significant impact on the local economy, providing jobs for around 200 people. The new site is due for completion this Autumn.
