Residents in the Rosebarn Lane area of Exeter have the chance to view proposals for a residents parking scheme at a public exhibition on Thursday (15 February).

Devon County Council has drawn up the plans following requests from residents who struggled to park near their homes and in consultation with local councillors.

This included the submission of a petition from residents and the results of a Devon County Council postal consultation held during May and June last year.

The area includes Aldrin Road, Armstrong Avenue, California Close, Canberra Close, Collins Road (between Rosebarn Lane and Stoke Valley Road), Doriam Close, Falkland Close, Florida Drive, Great Hill View, Lebanon Close, Linnet Close, Mayflower Avenue, Michigan Way, Newfoundland Close and Patricia Close.

Pennsylvania Road (between Rosebarn Lane and Stoke Valley Road), Perth Close, Plassey Close, Queensland Drive, Rosebarn Lane, Sheppard Road, Stoke Valley Road, The Fairway, Valley Park Close and Yew Tree Close are also included.

Plans showing the proposals will be on display at the exhibition where officers from Devon County Council will be on-hand to answer any questions.

Councillor Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways said: “We’ve listened to resident’s concerns, asked the local county councillors for their views and as a result we have drawn up these draft plans.

“While these plans won’t guarantee that every householder will be able to park outside their homes everyday they will increase the likelihood that they will be able to park in the immediate area.

Councillor Rob Hannaford, Chairman of the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee,  said: “It’s important that as many people as possible attend and give their views. The more people that give their feedback the more likely the final scheme will be one that best suits the area.”

The public exhibition is at Stoke Hill Junior School, Stoke Hill on Thursday 15 February 2018 between 1pm and 7pm.

Alternatively, if you are unable to attend the exhibition then the information and feedback forms will be available between 16th February 2018 and 8th March 2018 either online at http://devon.cc/rosebarnlanearea or at reception at County Hall.
