Police warning after attempted sexual assault in Exeter

Police are advising the public to be vigilant after an attempt was made to sexually assault a woman.

Police are currently investigating an attempted sexual assault in Exeter that happened on Thursday (3 November) between 1.40pm and 2pm.

A woman was approached by two unknown men, both dressed in black with black gloves, who then attempted to sexually assault her in the lane, which runs between Bathern Road and Cumberland Drive adjacent to the A3015 (Rydon Lane) in Exeter. The woman managed to fight them off to which the men ran off.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, who saw anything suspicious or possesses home CCTV systems or ‘Dash-Cams’ in their vehicles, which were parked in the area.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Heraldry Walk, Rydon Lane or Digby Drive during this time, as they could hold vital information relating to the incident.
