Visitors and shoppers can take advantage of 31 additional spaces in council car park next to Exmouth Town Hall

Now that East Devon District Council’s refurbishment of Exmouth Town Hall is complete, residents and visitors to Exmouth will be able to take advantage of the extra parking that is available in the adjacent car park, which is open for use by the public seven days a week on a short stay pay and display basis.

Users of the 31-space car park should always check the sign next to the pay and display ticket machine for details about tariff and length of stay. However, currently, shoppers/visitors can take advantage of the council’s winter shopper parking special, which offers all day parking for just £2 per day right through the winter until March 2018.

Because of its convenient location the council expects this car park to be a popular choice for shoppers and visitors to the town, in addition to those who are actually visiting the town hall itself.

Cllr Tom Wright, East Devon’s portfolio holder for the environment, said: “The location of this small car park, which is so close to the Strand and town centre businesses, has persuaded me that it is in the best interests of the town to offer these parking spaces to the public rather than reserving them for people working in or visiting the town hall. I am confident that in the run up to Christmas this will give shoppers and visitors another chance to find a parking space close to where they want to be and the winter offer means that they can then explore the town’s shops and other businesses at their leisure without worrying about expired car park tickets.”
