Full slate of Labour candidates ready to take on Conservatives for County Hall
Devon Labour Party is proud to announce that for the first time every seat in the upcoming Devon County Council elections will have a Labour candidate.
Rob Hannaford, Labour candidate for Exwick & St. Thomas in Exeter said: “I'm delighted our Party will for the first time stand candidates in every Devon division.
"Our Party has a clear message for Devon voters - the Conservative's plan more Council Tax rises whilst cutting your key services, charging residents more for less. This will be disastrous for Devon’s social care, children's services, our NHS, education, our environment and policing.
“We believe in the importance that every Labour supporter wherever they live should have the opportunity to vote Labour which is why having a full slate of candidates is such a great achievement.”
Chris Cuddihee, Campaign Coordinator for Devon Labour Party, said: "Over the last two years the Labour Party’s membership has grown tremendously in Devon with new activists and volunteers spread across the county. In 2016 our Police & Crime Commissioner candidate Gareth Derrick demonstrated there is significant support for Labour right across Devon.
“This has given us a huge boost in areas which have traditionally been hard for us, and shows that our support is not just clumped in pockets. This is why our candidates and members will be campaigning hard over the next 4 weeks to speak to voters and supporters all over Devon about the issues we face at this election.”
