First ever jobs fair to be held in Beacon Heath

The first ever job fair to be held in Beacon Heath, Exeter, is taking place on Tuesday 14 March.

The Spring Job Fair is being hosted by The Beacon Community Centre from 10am-1pm. JobCentre Plus, in association with Business in the Community, is organising the event.

Sarah Swain, JobCentre Plus employer advisor, said: “We are pleased to be able to support the residents by holding a job fair at the heart of the community.  It’s also a good opportunity to support the community centre.”

Already 10 employers and organisations will be attending the event and organisers hope more will sign up. The Beacon Community Centre is easy to find in Beacon Lane, it’s next to the Beacon Nursery and near the Devon Yeoman.

As well as jobs being advertised there is a chance to get advice on your CV, volunteering opportunities and there will be a café running so can have a relaxing chat over a cuppa.

Areas of work on offer include: hospitality, catering, carers, retail, agency staff, admin, security, call centre work, and construction. Businesses and organisations attending are: Sainsbury’s, Premier Inn, Recruit Princesshay, Acorn, Horizon Care, TSS, Cordant, Learn Direct, National Careers Service and YMCA.
