The Thrive Summer Series, a brand new initiative aiming to get the nation active, is heading to Princesshay on Saturday 5th September as part of a nationwide tour.

The Thrive team will be running activities to get shoppers moving.

Local activity groups are invited to join the Thrive team and be part of Exeter leg of the tour. Dance teachers, fitness instructors, martial arts gurus and walking group leaders are all welcome to join the event.

Thrive will feature fun and motivating characters such as Wilma Whistle and Dr Spin.

As part of the day’s activities there will be an ‘Activate Area’ where local groups are invited to show off their activity in a short demonstration before inviting spectators to give it a go themselves whether it’s Judo, Zumba or Yoga. Slots to showcase a group’s skills will be totally free and there will also be a stand provided to host information about the group and for potential members to ask questions and sign up.

The event aims to emphasise the fun side of getting fit and being active this summer. It is free for shoppers and visitors and a great chance to focus on healthy living, being more active, and connecting with the local community.

Hannah Milne, head of The Crown Estate’s regional portfolio said: “We are excited to launch the Thrive Summer Series which will create a sustainable and engaging event for the local community. This nationwide initiative will see a wide range of fun activities to promote an active lifestyle, health and wellbeing.”

Wayne Pearce, centre director of Princesshay said: “The Thrive Summer Series is going to be great fun, not only will visitors to Princesshay have the chance to take part in their favourite activities, there will be instructors on hand to help you try something new too.”
Local groups looking to get involved in the Thrive event should contact Dee Byrne or Sheeraz Gulsher on 0207 221 7883 or email thecrownestate@kallaway.com
