As Aviva Investors prepare to announce the name of the final restaurant set to open at Queen St. Dining, customer numbers continue to climb.

The phased opening of the seven new restaurants has been a great success, with people from across the region flocking to the dining destination during half term.

Visitors to Queen St. have the opportunity to experience an eclectic mix of eateries, as well as enjoying newly created public spaces. All tastes are catered for, with the inspiring line-up of Absurd Bird, Comptoir Libanais, Turtle Bay, The Stable, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, KuPP and The Terrace.

Since the first restaurant, Turtle Bay, opened last month, dining numbers across Queen St. Dining have exceeded expectations and the restaurant managers are delighted with the response they have received from Exeter residents and visitors. Sami A Huwaidi, Manager of Turtle Bay says: "We've had a great first few weeks with lots of happy customers who it's been a joy to welcome. This city is such an exciting place to be right now - the perfect time to introduce our signature, rum, reggae and jerk to the destination.”

Raymond Quinche, Operations Manager of Comptoir Libanais at Queen St. Dining, echoed Sami’s comment: “We’ve experienced a fantastic first couple of weeks. It’s great that Comptoir Libanais is part of this exciting new dining destination and we’ve already welcomed plenty of diners through our doors. The team have had great feedback from the people of Exeter and we look forward to introducing authentic Lebanese cuisine to even more people in the future.”

It seems all of the restaurants have been equally impressed, by Exeter’s eagerness to welcome new dining options to the city. Laura Pettingale, Gourmet Burger Kitchen Marketing Manager, said: “Since opening in September we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction we’ve had from everyone in Exeter. Burger fans have loved the menu, especially our latest special the Rump Burger.”

Aviva is currently in talks with restaurant operators, interested in Queen St. Dining’s last remaining unit, and expect to be in a position to announce the new occupier within the next two weeks.

Simon Green, Director at Aviva Investors, comments:  “Queen St. Dining has been an ambitious project for Aviva, marking a significant investment in the city, and we are delighted that we have exceeded our exceptions in terms of tenant mix and initial performance. We are now looking forward to signing another exciting occupier for the last remaining unit and further expanding the choice of restaurants on offer.”
