Law firm scores a hole in one with unique event

EXETER legal firm Cartridges Law gave a boost to the city’s Boat Shed project with an unusual networking event – the guests were able to test their skills on a mini golf course.

The company, long-term supporters of The Bike Shed, has now thrown its weight behind The Boat Shed: a project to build a creative space for theatre, music, performers, artists, designers and makers on the Quay.

Guests heard about the visionary project from The Bike Shed’s Director David Lockwood and were invited to try their hand on a temporary Exeter-themed mini golf course, situated in the proposed new development.

The networking event was organised by Cartridges Law, as part of its sponsorship of The Boat Shed’s pop-up season. The law firm has a history of backing arts and cultural initiatives in Exeter, and has supported The Bike Shed for a number of years. Their unique take on ‘corporate’ golf was the second time they had co-hosted a Cocktails and Culture event with the Theatre, bringing together businesses and the creative industries in Exeter and Devon.

David Lockwood said: ‘Cartridges Law’s support of the Bike Shed and Boat Shed projects has been invaluable, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without their sponsorship. The cocktails and culture events have been great for getting our name out to businesses, in a fun and engaging way.’

Penny Scott, Partner at Cartridges Law said ‘We know that networking events get a bit repetitive, so we wanted to try something new and hopefully raise the profile of The Boat Shed development at the same time. We are so excited to be involved in this wonderful project and can’t wait to see the dream come to fruition.’

The pop-up Boat Shed project is now open on the Quay in Exeter, and the Exeter themed mini-golf course is open to the public from 2 August until 2 September.

Cartridges Law is situated in Cowick Street in Exeter and in prides itself on the award-winning work it does as lawyers in the local community.
