Exeter firm helps Wheeler Dealers presenter with charity build

Goodridge Ltd, who are based in Exeter, have helped the presenter of popular restoration show Wheeler Dealers, Mike Brewer, with a special charity project known as the #ClassicRumble.

Mike was challenged alongside fellow Wheeler Dealer and presenter of Channel 4’s For the Love of Cars, Ant Anstead to complete a restoration project for the charity of their choice by Lancaster Insurance in March, with each presenter hoping that their finished classic will achieve the highest bid when they are auctioned through Silverstone Auctions at the Classic Motor Show in November.

Since April, Mike and his team have been restoring an incredible 1989 Ford Escort XR3i, in aid of Marie Crawford Boyd Foundation, and Goodridge Ltd have supplied custom fuel lines and flexi brake pipes to help the project be ready in time for November’s show.

Ant Anstead and his team have also been busy building a 1950s inspired Grand Prix racer from scratch in aid of Harrison’s Fund and once both are auctioned, two extremely worthwhile charities, Marie Crawford Boyd Foundation and Harrison’s Fund, will receive all of the respective proceeds of the sale. 

Mike comments: “It's always a delight getting the chance to bring a classic car back to life and to do it for charity makes this build even more special. I’ve had an amazing team behind me and the offers of help we’ve received from fellow enthusiasts and companies has been outstanding. If it wasn’t for companies like Goodridge Ltd donating their time and products then it wouldn’t have been possible - so a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart”.

The #ClassicRumble activity will see the final show stopping auction, through Silverstone Auctions, on Saturday 11th November at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC.
