Devon Contract Waste signs £2.5m Princess Yachts deal

An Exeter-based waste management business, Devon Contract Waste, has secured a contract with Princess Yachts worth around £2.5million to manage the British luxury yacht manufacturer’s waste for the next three years.

The new contract will mean the majority of the commercial waste collected from six of Princess Yachts’ Plymouth sites – home to 2,050 staff – will be managed by Devon Contract Waste’s Zero to Landfill service which is unique in the South West. Princess Yachts is among the expanding group of businesses in the Westcountry spearheading the movement towards a cleaner county by managing their waste responsibly with Devon Contract Waste.

The majority of the waste collected by Devon Contract Waste will be processed through The Zero to Landfill service, which utilises Devon Contract Waste’s unique Envirohub, and its state-of-the-art sorting equipment. The only type of its kind in the South West, it efficiently sorts all mixed non-food, non-glass waste. Every piece of waste that can be recycled is sorted and processed, saving the client time and reducing costs, as the waste does not have to be pre-sorted. Mixed waste is collected from clients in a single vehicle, reducing the number of journeys made and minimising its CO2 emissions. What can’t be recycled is sent to energy from waste plants, so absolutely nothing goes to landfill.
