Having a Christmas tree in the background of our morning meetings and decorating our makeshift desks with some tinsel is a great way to start feeling festive, but who says it has to stop there just because we’re working from home?

This Friday is Christmas Jumper Day and it’s the perfect opportunity to begin celebrating the most wonderful time of the year. Get cosy and warm at your work from home station by pairing your comfiest pyjamas with your favourite jolly jumper.

But where in the UK are people dressing down for their home offices, and have we hung up our work uniforms for good?

To find out, Moneypenny, the outsourced communication provider, surveyed 1000 UK office workers to see whether or not they miss their work office attire, and where in the UK are those happiest in their comfy PJs and slippers.

The results show that many of us are in fact in favour of keeping comfy and warm whilst working from home during the winter, as 52% of people surveyed said they love not having to get dressed into work clothes.

In fact some of us are so content with our matching loungewear sets, that 35% of those surveyed said they’d love to be able to take ‘comfy clothes’ to the office with them once working from home comes to an end.

Maybe it’s time to start searching for matching Christmas jumper PJs?

Workers in Portsmouth are clearly indulging in the comfy lifestyle as 77% said they are the most happy getting their tasks completed when wrapped up in their cosy outfits.

Some workers across the UK have taken their dress down days a bit further and have put the makeup back in the drawer. 68% of workers in Northampton said that their favourite thing about working from home is not having to put on makeup.

In fact workers in Exeter have taken it to the next level, as 35% of those surveyed said they love not having to put a bra on in the morning!

A Christmas jumper, pyjama bottoms, no makeup and no bra all sounds super cosy for a midweek meeting, but we’re missing something…

Slippers! Our comfy work from home, festive outfits wouldn’t be the same without some cosy slippers to keep warm in, and workers across the UK couldn’t agree more.

In fact, 13% of those surveyed said that if there was one thing they’d like to be able to bring back to the office with them, it would be their trusty pair of slippers.

The majority of us though, are happy with making our ‘comfy clothes’ a more permanent fixture of our work lives, as 35% of those surveyed said they would take them to the back office with them.

So, it’s clear to see that many of us have taken advantage of staying cosy and warm whilst working from home this winter, so why not add a Christmas jumper to your ‘wfh’ outfit to bring some festive cheer to your Zoom meetings too?
