New specialist agricultural mortgage consultant for Devon
A specialist agricultural and rural business mortgage consultancyhas appointed an experienced local agricultural banker, Richard Townsend, to help them to deliver finance solutions to farms and rural businesses in Devon.
Experienced rural and farm finance professional, Richard Townsend, is joining Rural and Business Specialists Ltd (R&BS). Richard is a well-known figure amongst farmers and rural professionals in Devon, having spent the last eight years working as an agricultural relationship manager for NatWest.
Richard is a Devon farmer’s son with a banking career that spans over 37 years with the NatWest Group. In his recent agricultural role, Richard worked closely with a portfolio of farm businesses and estates helping them to achieve their goals. Prior to that Richard held relationship management roles across different sectors within commercial banking and with high-net-worth clients.
In his new role at Rural & Business Specialists, Richard will be working with local farms, estates, smallholders, equestrian businesses, and other rural businesses, as well as local rural professional advisors including land agents, consultants, accountants and solicitors.
He will provide clients with strategic funding advice, source mortgages and negotiate with lenders for any business investments including land purchase, new buildings, diversification projects and business and finance restructuring.
