Who Are Bluestreak Crystals and What Do They Offer?

For anyone in the world of jewelry making, fashion embellishments or luxury crafts, the phrase “attention to detail” isn’t just a throwaway—it’s the whole game. The most exquisite designs are often defined not by grand scale, but by the smallest, most meticulously chosen components. Which is why sourcing top-tier crystals isn't a niche task, but a vital step. Enter Bluestreak Crystals—a name that’s increasingly gaining traction among professionals and ambitious hobbyists alike.

And yet, despite their growing reputation, many still ask: who exactly are they, and what sets them...

Why volunteering is so important - a blog by Caroline Burkie, PR and Fundraising Manager for WESC Foundation

National Volunteers' Week is in full swing and I felt compelled to write a blog about why I think volunteering is so important to charities, and importantly to the charity I work for, WESC Foundation.

If this blog inspires you, please pass it on to others and should you ever consider volunteering, we would love to hear from you....

I’ve only ever worked in the charity sector and I have chosen to dedicate my career to this for a variety of reasons. I have to believe in who and what I am working for and I have to know that the energy I put in to my working week is making a...

It is sad to note that as we may enjoy the sights and sounds of Spring around us, our natural history is in serious trouble. That is the conclusion of the recent State of Nature report published by a coalition of leading British conservation and research organisations.

Scientists working side-by-side from 25 wildlife organisations have compiled a stock take of our native species – the first of its kind in the UK. The report reveals that 60% of the species studied have declined over recent decades. More than one in ten of all the species assessed are under threat of disappearing...

Or a review of a restaurant, film, exhibition, album or gig?

Want to shout about your local amateur dramatics society?

Or simply an event or notice you would like to publicise?

Well now you can... and it's free and super easy to...

Change is good but some things remain constant

Financial advice has changed dramatically in recent years. I have heard it said – admittedly by another financial planner – that my chosen field of work has moved from being an industry to a profession. I’m personally of the opinion that there is still work to do, by the profession as a whole, before the wider public accept this distinction.

However, it is clear that gone are the bad old days of insurance salesmen knocking on your door at all hours to flog you a product that you didn’t really need and would be unlikely to ever be able to claim on.

I myself had a relative (...

Badger cull myths exposed in new report

On the eve of a potentially devastating badger cull, Team Badger has published a report exposing the myths which underpin these misguided plans.

Team Badger’s ‘Mythbusters Report’ has been published to correct inaccuracies and misconceptions being used to justify the killing of thousands of badgers. The group, made up of the RSPCA, IFAW, the Humane Society International (UK), Born Free, Dr Brian May’s ‘Save Me’ organisation, the League Against Cruel Sports and many other national and local organisations, aims to demonstrate that the near-extermination of the badgers will have...

Positive Energy Is a Chain Reaction

Gordon Dean was a distinguished American lawyer and prosecutor. One of the original members of the Atomic Energy Commission, he became its chairman from 1950 to 1953. It’s said that when Dean died in a plane crash in 1958, among his personal efforts was an envelope with nine life lessons scribbled on the back. These lessons aren’t about the law or about atomic energy. They’re wisdom about his philosophy of life: Never lose your capacity for enthusiasm. Never lose your capacity for indignation. Never judge people – don’t type them too quickly. But in a pinch never first assume that a man is...

The Perfect Dress for a Perfect Wedding

Purity Boutique Spa just recently had the honour of pairing up with Reiss for their spectacular summer event! We amplified the beauty of some lovely ladies with makeovers and sleek manicures as tribute to the newest summer styles.

I realise that sanity is not an option when you are choosing dresses - or ANYTHING for your bridal party, but let's think logically about this, now.

You could either go for 'safe' (and possibly boring) or you could go out on a limb and go for the dress theme of your dreams. From chic elegant 'occasion' dresses to flattering 'fit and flare' styles...

London Grecians win on Andros

A depleted Exiles squad with a few borrowed local Greek Grecian vets pulled off a shock result, or two, to win the annual Andros cup!

There were four teams taking part, Exeter Exiles, Hydrousa Vets, Youth, and their main team.

In a very close affair the youth pulled off their own shock to beat the main team 2-0 in the first semifinal.

In the second semifinal the Vets took a late lead against the Exiles after some neat build up through the middle left their striker one on one with yours truly who he sent the wrong way.

The Exiles' equaliser was even later and...

Who employs a declutterer?

The Hoarder Next Door , Britain's Biggest Hoarders and other such TV programmes have done much to highlight the growing issue of hoarding in the UK. It is estimated that there are about 3 million sufferers in this country ( www.helpforhoarders.co.uk ). Many stay silent and isolated. In these programmes you will see the only on-screen representation of a professional declutterer.

I have recently established myself as a declutterer and joined the 100 others registered nationally with the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO-UK). Many of us work with hoarders...

Does success breed wealth or wealth breed success?

A German soccer fan, perhaps poking fun at our stereotyping of his nation, recently put a beach towel on a seat at Wembley to reserve his place for the Champions League final. Not sure who he is supporting as both teams come from Germany being Bayern and Dortmund. These two teams rather spoilt things for the pundits who were expecting an “el classico” of a final from the two giants of Spanish football, Real Madrid and Barcelona, who both lost in the semi finals.

It is not just on the football field the Germans are performing well in sports, Michael Jung recently failed by a whisker...
