An elite team of chefs from the University of Exeter have won awards in The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) Chefs Competition 2013.

The staff at Reed Hall Conference and Events Centre, an Event Exeter venue at the University of Exeter, are bursting with pride as they celebrate the recent success of colleague Janet Woolacott (Chef de Partie), who scooped the bronze award in the Individual Major Chef of the Year category at this year's TUCO competition.

Exeter Forum has been selected as a finalist in the Project of the Year (between £10m - £50m) category for the 2013 Construction News Awards, to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on 11 July 2013.

Exeter car park deemed 'Best in Britain'!

Exeter's John Lewis Car Park, which recently underwent a £900,000 refurbishment and name change, has scooped a top national award.

The Car Park, which is run by Exeter City Council, was named Best Car Park Refurbishment of the Year at the British Parking Awards. The judges were so impressed with the car park they also gave it the Overall Winner award!

Claire Preece, Hospitality Manager at Kents Cavern, Torquay is one of only ten shortlisted candidates nominated for the nation's Tourism Superstar 2013 Award, run by national tourist board VisitEngland.

Claire won gold in the Devon Tourism Award for Outstanding Customer Service.

NHS Devon nominated for flu fighter award

The NHS in Devon has been nominated for a prestigious award for its efforts to promote the importance of getting vaccinated against flu to healthcare staff.

Public health bosses at NHS Devon developed an e-card that encourages healthcare staff to get protected against flu.

It has been shortlisted for a national NHS Employers’ flu fighter award and the local NHS will find out if it has been successful on 27 February at an awards ceremony in Leeds.

A campaign to encourage local communities to have their say on what public services matter most to them has been applauded by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in this year's Local Public Service awards.

Devon's super recyclers have been recognised in a special ceremony (held on Thursday 31 Jan) to thank them for their hard work in helping to protect Devon's environment.

This was the first year of the Recycle Devon Thank You awards which mark the 10 year anniversary of the Don't Let Devon go to waste campaign.
