IMP Planner named Product of the Year at MAT Excellence Awards 2026

IMP Planner, the flagship budgeting, forecasting and reporting platform for multi-academy trusts (MATs) from Exeter-based IMP Software, has won the Product of the Year award at the prestigious national MAT Excellence Awards 2026.

The awards, which give school trusts and organisations supporting the MAT sector the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and recognise their impact on pupils, staff and the community, were held in London earlier this month.

Exeter Northcott Theatre make an impact to win environmental award

Exeter Northcott Theatre are celebrating as it was announced they have won a Green Impact Bronze Award for their efforts over the last year to improve the theatre’s environmental credentials.

Green Impact is a national scheme involving universities and colleges across the UK, as well as other organisations including the NHS and the police. The initiative is run by the NUS, encouraging and supporting staff to change their habits and adopt more environmentally sustainable working practices.

Shortlisted from 105 entries, an artwork developed for an exhibition at RAMM has won an international linocut prize.

Exeter-based artist Volkhardt Müller adapted 12 little plastic TVs with musical clockwork to play finely carved miniature lino cuts on a perpetual roll for the Witness Box display in the exhibition, Any High Street. Royal recognition for Devon’s top volunteers

Two of Devon’s top volunteer groups have received the Royal seal of approval this week as they were honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The Tavistock and District Outdoor Education Forum (TDOEF) and The Dawlish Gardens Trust were amongst 117 groups in the UK to receive the prestigious accolade, which is the highest award given to volunteer groups and has a status equivalent to the MBE.

Students studying as part of the Exeter College Reach Academy have been celebrating their achievements in a special awards ceremony.

Joining the students were key sponsors and contributors of the Academy from the Met Office, Michelmores LLP and the Exeter University Model United Nations group.

The Academy, launched in 2009 with an aim to support the most academically able students to reach top university destinations, has had another busy year. 60 students on the programme commit to an additional 60 hours of extra-curricular activity each week in order to boost their skills...

A graphic design student says she’s “delighted” to have won a national award. Gemma Luxton, who studies in Nottingham Trent University’s School of Art & Design, won the New Designers Hallmark Award for her greetings card range. The 22-year-old was given £1,000 prize money and a work placement at the global greetings card company which sponsored the award. Blood pressure research wins National Prize

Research carried out at the University of Exeter Medical School on the monitoring of blood pressure has received the Royal College of General Practitioners Research Paper of the Year Award in the stroke category.

The research has contributed to national and international guidelines.

Exeter-based world-leading software and services provider Simpleware has added another national accolade to its collection after scooping an IOP Innovation Award.
