Scratchworks Theatre Company are thrilled to be back performing on home turf at Exeter Phoenix this Easter with The Snow Beast; a captivating family friendly collision of storytelling, with an original score and live science experiments that will inspire young audiences to engage with the beauty of the unknown and the magic of the everyday.

Recently tipped by WhatsOnStage.com as one of the national Top Ten Kid’s Shows to see this half term, we’re excited to present this new show in the city the theatre company was founded.

In the snowy town of Seldomberg test tubes bubble, experiments explode and new inventions whirr at the annual science fair. With nothing but her mother’s old research book, her owl assistant Maude and her sense of adventure to help her, Faina sets off on an action packed exploration, encountering extraordinary spectacles and mountainous obstacles as they battle through the wild, wintry wilderness in search of the truth. Does The Snow Beast really exist? Can we separate stories from fact, or do they whirl together like snowflakes in a blizzard?

The Snow Beast is a new collaboration between critically acclaimed theatre company Scratchworks and award-winning writer Jack Dean, in association with The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth. This brand new show will be a captivating collision of storytelling, an original score and live science experiments that will inspire young audiences to engage with the beauty of the unknown and the magic of the everyday.

The Snow Beast will appear at Exeter Phoenix on Sunday 8th April with performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. The 2.30pm is a relaxed performance, which is open to everyone and suitable for individuals with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. The show is suitable for children aged 7+ and their families and the performance lasts around 90 minutes plus an interval.

Tickets cost £10 full and £8 concessions (under 16s, over 60s, students and disabled) plus buy a family ticket for £30 (max 2 adults) and are available via the Exeter Phoenix website http://www.exeterphoenix.org.uk/events/the-snow-beast/ or by calling Exeter Phoenix Box Office on 01392 667080.
