The Grownup’s Guide to Growing Up

After lifelong dedication to the research, analysis of data, multiple dependable sources and reflection of first-hand experience I have come to the conclusion that I have yet to grow up. In fact, I believe it to be a small wonder that I’ve managed to survive for nearly 30 years at all.

Everyone else has it sorted. I believe this. This is 100% percent fact, I think. How do they do it? Life: love, work, money, family. It’s what grown-ups do.

And now as I approach the big 30. (That’s a big deal isn’t it? There’s like, movies about it, isn’t there?). I can’t help but feel that if I could go back, just one more round, I’d be more prepared and get it right. Who’s with me?

Or we could just throw a party. Is that what a grownup would do?

You are invited to a big fake 30th birthday.

A comedy about growing up whilst looking back. A nostalgic look at our past, pop culture’s influence and society’s expectations. Wondering if the ‘big 30’ really is such a big deal. For those who feel a little bit lost. A mix of sketches, stand up, physical theatre and birthday cake.

Suitable for ages 14+
