To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Exeter Blitz in May 2012, Viva Voce created a theatrical experience from interviews with 16 individuals who were between the ages of 6 and 25 in 1942.

The staging of these extraordinary stories proved to be a wonderful event for people of all ages in Exeter. Don’t miss this chance to see this very special piece of theatre.

Viva Voce’s mission is to create artistic experiences from the words of real people, propelled by the belief that sharing and listening to each other’s life experiences can enrich our communities, and in turn, our lives. The residency is a festival of theatre of testimony, which also includes a series of readings of other testimony plays, workshops and events that will share Viva Voce’s approach to making theatre. T

hey will be developing a new play Citizen, which asks 'what does it mean to be an active citizen in the 21st century?', collecting testimony from the people of Exeter. Viva Voce believes that through the living word, communities can be brought together.
