Tannasso and The Wounded Wild (8.15pm)

Alexa Smith
.
'Tannasso & The Wounded Wild' is a unique storytelling experience, choreographed and performed by solo artist Alexa Smith. This is a piece that invites both performer and audience to step into the deep unknown and explore how one relates to the other.

Tannasso is bare-breasted, tribal, woman.

Into the space she stealthily creeps, seen yet unseen, hunting yet hunted. As the veils between two worlds part the audience are invited to gather by her fire and hear tales of life in the wild.  Her story is timeless, speaking of a human experience that has been known by many people, in many lands across all the Ages. Responding and revealing to each and every moment, Tannasso speaks in her native tongue and weaves an image onto the stage through voice, body, drum and soul.  Touching on contemporary issues such as community, relationships and violence against women this performance explores how the human spirit can find the courage to come back from tragedy.

As an embodied performance 'Tannasso & the Wounded Wild' is warmly intimate, deeply intuitive and powerful in experience. The piece is open to endless possibilities and interpretations, inviting the audience to relate and listen with more than their ears.
