Into the Breach

Exeter born actor Mark Carey comes to Cygnet Theatre with his acclaimed one man show “Into the Breach”.

Set in 1943 in a Devon village this funny and nostalgic tale centres on George Crocker an odd job man and amateur actor. Hoping to play panto dame for his local drama group George gets dragged into a wartime production of Henry V by the flamboyant director Simon Trottley Barnes. With all seventeen colourful characters played by one man the play is a vivid portrait of village life.

Into the Breach has been playing to delighted audiences up and down the country and returns to Exeter after a sellout performance at the Bike Shed.

“Will make you laugh and cry. Wonderful!” Stratford Herald.

“ Totally engaging and brilliantly professional.” Jane Lapotaire.

“ I was glued to my seat” Count Arthur Strong.
