Opera Lyrica presents Handel’s pastoral opera Acis and Galatea, a tale of tragedy, eternal love and liberation. This brief and beautiful masque has been bewitching audiences since its premiere in 1718, and this semi-staged production will be no exception. Join the cast and crew of young professionals as they tell you the story of the mortal Acis and the goddess Galatea, and their love doomed by the cyclops Polyphemus. If you already know and love the opera, come and enjoy a night of fabulous music making. If you are new to opera, this is a very good place to start. Either way, this promises to be another Opera Lyrica production that will stay with you.
