One of the highlight performances of this year’s Two Moors Festival, this concert’s theme is commemorating 200 years since Russia’s victory over the French, 50 years since first performance of Haydn’s cello concerto in C major and 40 years since NASA launched Apollo 16

A truly commemorative programme, this cathedral concert includes a performance of Tchaikovsky’s overture – composed in 1880 – to celebrate Russia’s victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Borodino in 1812, while Holst fans will surely appreciate the performance of the Planets Suite’s – a fitting tribute to the success of Apollo 16’s moon landing in 1972.

With Guy Johnston cellist, and David Curtis conductor.

Tickets: £22, £20, £16 numbered seating, £10 unreserved side aisle.

Box Office: 01643 831006
