It’s a rare treat when a multi-award-winning band, renowned enough to sell out the Royal Albert Hall five times over, offer the chance to be enjoyed in smaller, more intimate settings. But Show of Hands are known for doing things differently so that’s exactly what they’re up to with their 2018 duo tour, Where We’re Bound.

Steve Knightley and Phil Beer are two extraordinary craftsmen with one unique sound. Usually joined by ‘third member of the duo’ Miranda Sykes, this tour puts the magic of the original duo format firmly back into the spotlight.

Steve said, “Big shows like the Royal Albert Hall and festivals offer us the chance to make a big sound, often bringing in talented friends to add to the experience. But there is something about playing as a duo that offers something different and more personal, both to ourselves and to our audiences. Phil and I can’t wait; it’ll be like the old days, but with more reliable transport!”

Show of Hands weave story and melody to create a spellbinding display of consummate musicianship. This is an unmissable celebration of Steve and Phil’s enduring impact on roots, acoustic and folk music. The 2018 duo tour won’t just be focusing on nostalgia though. A raft of new songs will be showcased, reminding us that Steve Knightley’s razor-sharp song writing and commentary is more relevant than ever.

Steve and Phil’s special guest is fellow Devonian Geoff Lakeman, chieftain of the brilliant Lakeman tribe. A compelling musician in his own right, the release of his debut album ‘After All These Years’ has seen festivals and concert venues clamouring to book him, suggesting retirement might be off the cards for some time.
