Music from the Exeter Symphony Orchestra in a classical programme that features

Violin concerto in D - Tschaikowsky
Four Sea Interludes - Benjamin Britten
Overture - The Wasps - Ralph Vaughan-Williams

A wide and appealing programme of music in a fund-raising concert for the Devon Wildlife Trust, with ESO regular, the international violinist
Tamsin Waley-Cohen, as our soloist, performing the Violin Concerto in D by Tschaikowsky.

Among the other works to be performed will be pieces directly related to countryside and wildlife including the Four Sea Interludes - Benjamin Britten, and a work about one of every beekeeper's nightmares - the arrival of those evil predators on the bees saved stores - The Wasps - Ralph Vaughan-Williams.

What has the concerto to do with wildlife and nature? The key of D major has usually been associated with sunshine, brightness, celebration and important events. Ideal for such an event as this, and it is a great pleasure to provide the music for this fundraising event.
