As Part of the Barnfield Music Festival 2015

Award winning Jazz and Big Band Singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal has always championed the music of the most beloved female singers of the 20th Century. In 2014 she turned her attention to one of the world’s greatest musical stars who was celebrating her 90th birthday, the iconic and much loved Doris Day.

Clare’s tribute to Doris on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night, in honour of this milestone birthday, was a huge success. So it was decided that this was a show that really needed to be taken on tour. Clare has created a show that celebrates all of Doris’ professional life. Starting from her early days with Les Brown and his Band of Renown, the show moves on to embrace her massive hit songs from the time when she was the Queen of Hollywood, and also includes later material when she was more influenced by the world of pop.

Clare’s celebration is about rejoicing in the songs of this great artist. The era when she became a worldwide star may be long gone, but her timeless, classic songs will continue to endure. They thrill and captivate audiences of all generations and Clare’s interpretations of them demonstrate not only her own distinct, stunning vocal style, but also prove what a deep respect she has for their original singer.

The show is an entertaining, joyful journey through the musical life of one of the biggest legends of Hollywood. Songs include Secret Love, Move Over Darling, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, Deadwood Stage, It’s Magic, Ready Willing and Able, Everybody Loves A Lover, I’ll Never Stop Loving You and Que Sera Sera (What Will Be Will Be).

Clare Teal  celebrates Doris Day – a spectacular tribute to a great star.
