Since their formation in 2002, multi-faceted UK trio Foreign Beggars’ unique trajectory has seen them evolve from underground hip hop heroes to trailblazing electronic crossover act without ever forsaking an ounce their inimitable energy. The critically acclaimed group, individually known as MCs Orifice Vulgatron, Metropolis and DJ Nonames, have built this steadfast reputation as one of the UK’s most versatile, creative and prolific acts through a continuing desire to push the envelope that is as urgent now as it has ever been.

Deciding early on to forge their own path, Foreign Beggars made their name off the back of a slew of well received singles and albums on their own Dented Records imprint. Having garnered international support from these foundations, recent years have seen them turn their hands to exploring an eclectic and visceral fusion of their hip hop roots with the diversifying sounds of electronic music. Bringing their lyrical dexterity, swagger and razor sharp wit to a genre-defying blend of sounds, Beggars are championing the forward-thinking sounds of a new wave of borderless creativity and exciting young producers.

In 2011 they teamed up with the Never Say Die label on ‘The Harder They Fall’ EP which delved into this new territory with undeniable electricity as they collaborated with the likes of Skrillex, Alix Perez, Lazer Sword and Excision.

Following a diverse series of singles for mau5trap this year, the trio are opening the latest chapter in their evolution with the release of new album ‘The Uprising’ on the deadmau5-helmed label. Joining one of the most revered rosters of artists in electronic music, this bold move has given Beggars the chance to craft their boldest and most definitive creative statement yet. Working with an eclectic selection of electronic music’s most exciting and forward-thinking producers, ‘The Uprising’ sees them teaming up with the likes of Knife Party, Burns, Bare Noize and Salva as well as previous collaborators Kidkanevil and Alix Perez. Allowing them to explore their myriad influences, ‘The Uprising’ is the sound of a group continuing to hit their stride and approaching their craft with the same boundless enthusiasm that has characterized their career thus far.
