Beans on Toast
Drunk folk singer, barefoot troubadour and cult legend Beans on Toast has been around the block more times than he cares to remember. Thankfully though, with his unique blend of simple songs and no holds barred quick wit, he is an act that is anything but tired.
The Beans on Toast live show is an odd and unpredictable experience. A singer, storyteller and guitar player his self-deprecating quality is not something you often see, but it breaks down the barrier between musician and audience, creating a sense of equality.
Beans on Toast will be doing a week long tour across the South of the UK as part of this year’s Independent venue week. IVW is a brilliant organisation that highlights the need for grass roots independent venues, which as we all know are closing down at an alarming rate.
Beans’ new song The Drum Kit taken from his new album A Spanner in the Works released on Xtra Mile Recordings on 1st December 2016 is all about the closing of UK venues; a matter very close to Bean’s heart, so this whistle stop tour seemed like a very good shout indeed.
Each night there will be great local acts on the bill, and each show will be no more than a tenner for you to support your local independent venue.
