A flower festival and garden fete will be part of a weekend of events at St Peter’s Church in Zeal Monachorum from Friday 12th June to Sunday 14th June.

The church will be open each day for the flower festival which have a theme of ‘weddings’.  More than 10 wedding dresses will be displayed belonging to ladies who were married at St Peter’s with the floral displays around the church depicting the colours of the bouquets.

The church will be open from 2.30pm to 5pm on the Friday, and from 11am to 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

A service to commemorate ‘Marriage’ will be held on the Sunday at 5pm to be taken by the Rev Lindsey Starrs with cake and sherry served afterwards.

Entry to the flower show will be free however, a programme will be available at a cost of £2 each which will explain the displays and who owns each dress.

On the Saturday, the annual St Peter’s Church fete will take place in the beautiful garden at North Star House (opposite the church), by kind permission of Janet and Tony Brealy.

The fete will be opened at 12.30pm by Rev Anthony Geering.

There will be various stalls and games including horse racing, duck games, bottle tombola and skittles.

There will be a BBQ, so all are welcome to go along and have lunch and in the afternoon enjoy cream teas.

In case of wet weather the fete will take place in the village hall.
