Celebrate Dartmoor's wonderful wildlife at the Spring Woodland Festival, located in the beautiful East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve. Come and meet the people and organisations who care for wildlife on and around the moor.

There will be plenty of fun things to do for the budding young naturalist; including wildlife crafts, pond dipping, and storytelling. Throughout the day there will be guided walks led by wildlife experts, whilst for those wishing to relax and enjoy the woodland surroundings, there will be music and a barbeque.

The event takes place on Saturday 19th May 10.30am-4.30pm at Yarner Wood. To get there follow the event parking signs from Bovey Tracey towards Haytor, turning off at Yarner House, where special event parking has been arranged. There is a charge of £2 per person to take part in the event.

Tickets are available on the gate or in advance from: https://woodlandtrusttickets.cloudvenue.co.uk/springfestivalyarner

Event organiser, Andy Bailey from the Moor than meets the eye Landscape Partnership said, “This beautiful oak woodland really bursts into life in the Spring, with birds travelling thousands of miles to nest here. I can’t think of a better way to excite the naturalists of the future so come along and make a day of it. There’s even a chance to meet the nature reserves very own royal inhabitants- the red wood ants and their queen!”
