Exeter Cathedral owns the most incredible book. Known as The Exeter Book it is one quarter of the world’s surviving collection of Anglo-Saxon literature (one of the other 3 texts being the better known Beowulf). It contains poems and all but one of the known Anglo-Saxon riddles (a traditions which helped to inspire Tolkien’s famous riddle scene in The Hobbit).

Join us to explore some of these riddles including the well-known 'riddle 47' about a mischievous moth and to have a go at some moth activities including making moth wings and your own moth bookmark!

This is a drop in workshop and so booking is not required. Aimed at children aged up to 11. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sessions 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm.
