The Exeter Book: Family Fun

Wednesday 6th April 2016, 12.30-15.30 (Pearson Education Centre) Come and see the amazing Exeter Book which has survived for over 1000 years!

Drop in to the Library & Archives to see this amazing collection of Anglo-Saxon poems.

While you’re there – meet the archivist and ask her what parchment is made of (it’s rather disgusting….).

Afterwards, come over to our Education Space and take part in our Anglo-Saxon themed activities.

Make a shield or a brooch to take home, and see if you can work out the riddles of the Exeter Book.

Then have a go at writing your own riddle with a quill pen on our fake parchment! Booking information £2.50 per child for all activities, including trip to Library.

Come to Pearson where archivist will meet groups and take them over to the Library. Parents must accompany children. Suitable for ages 5-14, but all welcome. No booking required, just turn up!
