EPC Concert Poster 2027 Carmina Burana

Carl Orff Carmina Burana

A spectacular celebration of choral power and orchestral brilliance.

For 180 years, Exeter Philharmonic Choir has brought people together through the shared experience of great choral music. This special season celebrates the Choir's rich heritage while looking ahead to an exciting future, with performances that highlight the power, variety and enduring appeal of the choral tradition. The season opens with Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, one of the most popular choral works of the twentieth century, best known for its electrifying opening chorus, O Fortuna

Exeter Philharmonic Choir welcomes the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and soloists Rebecca Hardwick, James Geidt and Andrew Henley, who will share the stage with the county's finest young instrumentalists from the Devon Youth Inspire Ensemble, joined by Devon County Junior Choir and children from Bovey Tracey Academy Choir.

The concert includes three other wonderful pieces of music: Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man; Karl Jenkins Sanctus and Benedictus from The Armed Man; and Patrick Hawes Quanta Qualia.
