The Royal British Legion (Exmouth Branch) is proud to present, for a fourth year, a Festival of Remembrance, musical entertainment with serious undertones, in aid of the RBL Poppy Appeal.

This concert has a tri fold purpose, the first is to remember, as we do at this time of year, those who gave their lives during wars past and present, secondly to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal, and last but not least, provide an evening of entertainment.

With the monies raised during Poppy Appeal, and donations throughout the year, the Royal British Legion is available to provide assistance to serving members of the Armed Forces, Former-Service men and women (veterans), their families and dependents.

The entertainment! Artistes performing this year, (in no particular order) are:

  • City of Exeter Pipes & Drums, a volunteer independent civilian band playing the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe with Drums, (the pipes, although not to everyone’s liking, certainly frightened our enemies on the battlefield).
  • Blitz & Peaces, formed in 2005, they provide quality, experiential entertainment, songs, music and humour from the 1940s.
  • The Exmouth Shanty Men, singing a selection of songs and shanties as they would have been sung on the decks of the tall ships or in the dockyard taverns in the golden age of sail reminding us of our maritime heritage.
  • Mark Nelson, an acoustic guitarist & singer-songwriter with a difference...in that he does it all with one arm! He was voted Best Support Artist 2010 at the Guildford Music Awards 2010.
  • BAF a popular Pop group, bringing the entertainment some wonderful music.
  • A splendid array of songs from our local Lympstone Military Wives Choir.

This year the Exmouth Sea Cadets have a surprise for the audience.
