The Donkey Sanctuary is holding its annual Summer Fete this Sunday 10th August 2014 from 10am to 4pm.

Jam-packed with fantastic games and activities it's a fun day out for the whole family topped off by the chance to meet the adorable adoption donkeys and their grooms.

The Summer Fete offers donkey grooming and a donkey agility course as well as a riot of family games and sports and countryside fun! The day includes face painting, Punch and Judy, a bouncy castle, an array of amazing crafts and stalls as well as fabulous entertainment from guitarist Roger Styles and the Amycrofters Folk Dance Band.

The whole family can enjoy country sports and activities such as welly wanging, a unique golf competition, and trailer rides around the farm.

Donkey lovers can also say hello to the lovely adoption donkeys, whose grooms will be available between 11am and 12 noon and 2pm and 3pm to answer questions about the donkeys’ care and behaviour and what goes on behind the scenes.

Organiser Chris Philips said: “We are really excited about the Summer Fete which is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the charity - as well as a whole lot of fun!

“There will be something for everyone with a wide range of stalls and games and of course the opportunity to meet our wonderful donkeys. It’s a brilliant day for the whole family and we hope to see you there!”

A beer tent and BBQ will be available. Plus ice creams to cool down after all the excitement.

Admission is free but donations on the day are gratefully received. All funds received go towards the charity’s work in the UK and abroad.
