Exeter Quay embraces its Georgian heritage with a Winter living history display. Members of the Society of King George the Third, a Devon based group which has provided film footage used on History of Britain, Meet the Ancestors and many other documentaries, will be mustering and recreating a Georgian Naval dockyard here in Exeter.

In addition to set displays on aspects of life in the late 1700s, a detachment will represent Captain Edward Pellew’s Royal Navy landing party and Corps of Marines c1793. There will be two formal drill displays and talks that will include the firing of flintlock muskets. It is hoped this occasion will capture the colour and atmosphere of Old England at the beginning of the feastive season.

Come along to this free event and visit this attractive location made even more special by this step back in time.
