It’s the time of year for poring over the seed catalogues and deciding what to grow this year. But the cost of seeds is going up fast and it can be quite daunting to realise how much it will cost to grow all the different crops we might like.

But there is an alternative! Very few people need to use a whole pack of carrot seeds, so how about swapping half your pack for half a pack of lettuce seeds?

A seed swap is an opportunity to get together with other gardeners and swap seeds that you don’t need, or that you have collected from last year’s crops. Even if you have no surplus seeds to swap there will be plenty of seeds to give away. And it’s not just about swapping seeds – the Harvest Seed Swap is a celebration of everything to do with food growing, so it’s a chance to get your gardening questions answered, find out what like-minded people are up to in Exeter, enjoy some lovely food and a cuppa in the Harvest café and much more.

This year we’re teaming up with Love Local Food to bring you a really exciting event. We’ll have Harvest favourites Men in Sheds selling re-furbished garden tools, and there will be children’s activities, Storytelling, a café selling delicious locally made food, live music and lots of information stalls and activities from Exeter based groups and organisations with a local food theme.

11am-2pm.
