Leeds-based specialist, APP Construction has been appointed by Vospers, the family-owned, Plymouth-based car dealer group, to deliver a £10m multi-franchise car dealership facility in Exeter.

The 45,000sq ft. site is the largest at the recently opened Matford Green Business Park and will include sales showrooms and service facilities for Mazda, Jeep, Fiat and Alfa Romeo. Exeter College today announced that a record breaking 24 students are holding offers to study at Oxford and Cambridge starting in 2018. A total of 17 students have been offered places at Oxford and seven at Cambridge in a diverse range of subjects from Medicine to Law. Week long closure of Iron Bridge in Exeter

Iron Bridge in Exeter will be closed next week for routine maintenance to be carried out.

The road will be closed between Paul Street and Dinham Road from Monday 29 January until Friday 2 February to enable new width restriction bollards and signs to be installed. The bridge deck will also be inspected during the closure with trial holes being excavated in order to inform future improvement work to the structure and its drainage. Ryan Loft joins City on loan until end of the season

Exeter City have signed forward Ryan Loft for Tottenham Hotspur. Ryan was born in Gravesend and played for both Dartford and Ebbsfleet United before linking up with Spurs Academy. He made his Football League debut for Stevenage after joining them on loan in January 2017. In total he made nine appearances for the Hertfordshire side in League Two last season in addition to playing 11 times for Spurs’ under-23 team where he scored in home matches against Liverpool and Reading. The season before Ryan netted 13 goals in 22 appearances for Tottenham’s under-18s team.

Police appeal after woman robbed at cash point in Exeter

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a theft outside the Co-operative bank on Exeter High Street.

The incident took place on Friday 19 January between 11:20pm and 11:45pm. The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was approached by two men after withdrawing a quantity of money from the cash point in Exeter High Street.

The cash was taken from the victim’s hands by the two offenders before they made off.

Four more Chiefs players agree new deals

Club captain Jack Yeandle heads up a list of four Exeter Chiefs players who have today penned new deals with the Aviva Premiership champions.

The 28-year-old hooker, together with fellow front-row forwards Greg Holmes, Elvis Taione and Harry Williams, have become the latest squad members to commit their futures to the Chiefs.
