New research released today by the new car buying and selling website Carfused.com reveals just how dirty the nation’s cars really are. With the help of cleaning expert Kim Woodburn – from Channel 4’s How Clean is Your House? – Carfused.com swabbed 15 car interiors and sent the tests to The University of Nottingham’s Microbiology Investigation Centre for analysis with some shocking results.

Operation Slug on the trail of allotment thieves

Police in Exeter are launching a crime fighting operation to tackle theft of garden and power tools from allotments across the city.

Known as Operation Slug, allotment owners will be issued with a special kit that contains Smartwater, an invisible property-marking solution. Warning signs will be displayed to help deter burglars.

Each kit allows plot owners to mark their possessions with a unique forensic code that is traceable. This can then be used by the police to identify items should they ever be stolen, as well as help link suspects to crime scenes.

Ben Kosky a final year student at the University of Exeter Business School has been named Intern of the Year by Microsoft UK. Ben was up against very tough competition, which included 125 other hopeful candidates from across the UK. SW commercial property in demand

Demand from business for commercial property in the South West rose for the eleventh consecutive quarter, while available space in the region fell for the ninth successive period, according to the latest RICS Commercial Market Survey.

Flybe share price rises

Exeter-based Flybe's share price improved this morning as the airline released its latest finacial figures. Flybe, which issued an encouraging trading update for the first quarter, said it had managed to cut the cost of a UK seat by 3.4 per cent to £51.92. The budget airline share price was up 6.3 per cent in early trading on the back of an upbeat trading statement, reporting “sustained passenger and revenue growth” saying it was now in “the next chapter of its transformation”.
