Exeter-based accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards has donated a variety of IT equipment, including 44 PC screens, to Exeter Foyer to be used by its young residents as part of their work, training and educational programmes.

Electoral arrangements finalised for Exeter City Council

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published its final recommendations for new electoral arrangements for Exeter City Council.

Today’s publication follows an eight-week public consultation on its draft proposals and draws new boundaries for each council ward across Exeter.

Cycling revolution goes electric in Exeter

Transport Minister, Andrew Jones, announced on Monday 28 September that cycle-hire schemes across the country will receive hundreds of electric bikes to make cycling more accessible.

E-bikes offer battery-assisted pedalling at the flick of a switch, making it easier for people who are keen to cycle more but who may be put off by hilly routes or not having cycled regularly.

EAD Ecology, a firm of ecological consultants based in Exeter, has been named ‘Consultant of the Year’ by Redrow Homes (West Country) in the annual awards ceremony for suppliers and subcontractors to Redrow’s West Country division.

Dartmoor National Park has just launched its Communities Fund for 2015/16. The Fund, supported by the New Homes Bonus from West Devon Borough, Teignbridge and South Hams District Councils, will support capital projects that ensure the long term viability of valued existing community facilities and services, or create new community infrastructure to meet identified community needs.
