Nearly £6,000 raised for The British Heart Foundation!

The British Heart Foundation is Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Exeter’s chosen charity for 2026.

The charity was chosen by the President of Exeter CII, Theresa Atal, who is also Compliance Director for Trusted Financial Advice (TFA).

Theresa said: “The British Heart Foundation is a charity very close to my heart - excuse the pun. My father had heart issues, and my partner has a defibrillator fitted. Every pound raised, and all donations handed in their shops around the country, help make a difference to people’s lives.”

A WELL-KNOWN television chef has chosen a Devon printed packaging specialist to help produce the outer boxes and sleeves for his range of meals for people to enjoy at home (August 2022).

Many Devon businesses don’t know which way to turn, as they continue to struggle with recruitment difficulties on top of rising costs of commodities, energy and fuel.

Businesses in hospitality and leisure especially, mainstays of Devon’s local economy, are continuing to find it difficult to recruit, says Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Devon & Plymouth Chamber. Carpentry apprentice, Emily Baker, has urged women to consider a career in construction as she reflects on an action-packed year working for Persimmon Homes.

Emily, an apprentice with the company’s Cornwall and West Devon business, joined the business last autumn and is working on the Trevethan Meadows site in Liskeard while studying at City College Plymouth.

The only tech business support programme for the whole of the South West of England is launching for its second year, after helping companies secure £1m.

Tech South West StartUp Studio 2021 saw the likes of Paranimo, Eate, Groundwaves, Milbotix and a clutch of other early stage pre-seed companies go on to raise £1m of grants and investment since completing the programme - with some still actively fund-raising; seeking another £1m!
