Local businesses are being invited to play a part in a groundbreaking Exeter motoring trial that could make driving in the city, the South West and, eventually the globe, cheaper, greener and safer.

Bridge Road closure cancelled tonight

Bridge Road in Exeter will remain open this evening (Tuesday 23 February) as a scheduled closure is no longer needed.

A full road closure was originally planned tonight as part of the widening scheme.

However, the traffic management work to establish one lane in each direction was completed last night and therefore the additional closure is not required.

The Glasshouse Lane/Bridge Road junction will be closed from 9am on Wednesday 24 February until 6pm on Saturday 27 February.

Staff give RD&E thumbs up in latest survey

Results from the latest annual NHS Staff Survey show once again that high numbers of RD&E staff would recommend the hospital as a place to work or receive treatment.

The 2015 survey results, released this week, also show that the level of staff satisfaction with the quality of work and patient care they deliver is above the national average for acute trusts. For the past few weeks, RGB driver Keith Thomas has been inviting customers to make a donation to his ‘Colour in Keith’ appeal and vote on what colour, or pattern, his hair became.

Cranbrook Rail Station has been officially opened today (Monday 22 February).

Andrew Jones MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, attended the ceremonial opening where he unveiled a plaque.

Hourly services on the existing Waterloo Line, operated by South West Trains, started calling at the station last December. The single platform station was funded by Devon County Council and the Cranbrook New Community Partners, and was delivered on their behalf by Network Rail.
