Every child in Devon is to be invited to take part in a Battle of the Somme centenary project not only to learn about the war but also to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Devon Primary and Secondary Schools will be invited to contribute by entering a project that will help their students consider the impact of the Battle of the Somme on their own community.

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital has invested £120,000 in breast care imaging technology. The new mammography suite enhances the state-of-the-art diagnostic offering at the hospital.

The Fuji Amulet system provides high quality images which helps to detect abnormalities more effectively. The images are produced immediately with no processing time. The system is more comfortable for patients as the scanning time is reduced.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with around 12,000 women dying of the disease every year.

Droplet begins second funding bid

A fast growing mobile app that combines loyalty with payments is one of the first companies in the UK to return to Crowdcube to achieve its aim of being in 20 cities by the end of 2016.

Droplet, which launched in Exeter last year, will look to secure more than £450,000 of funding in a second round bid that went live this week.

The decision comes after the company achieved its 12-month business plan of setting up and rolling out in 10 major cities, including Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Norwich.

On 28 May over 1,000 runners will be taking to the city streets and glowing for their local hospice charity.

The 5k sponsored run starts and finishes at the University of Exeter, with runners being entertained by music as they head towards the city centre. Exeter firm wins quality award

City solicitors Rundlewalker have successfully retained the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark, Lexcel, a much sought after accreditation scheme for law firms in England and Wales.

Exeter head coach Rob Baxter has today spoken of his delight at bolstering his Chiefs squad with the signing of Australian international Lachlan Turner.

The Exeter PA Network's first development event for 2016 saw over 50 PAs and support staff from organisations including Landmark, Devon County Council and Devon Air Ambulance come together to learn about 'personal brand' and its importance in the world of business today.
